Between January 2013 and September 2016, Alain served as the Director at the National Wine and Grape Industry Centre, located at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, Australia. He also briefly held the position of acting Director, Research, at Charles Sturt University from February to November 2015. From 2017 to 2022, Alain was appointed as an Adjunct Research Professor at CSU from 2017 to 2023.

Alain's impressive achievements include the invention of two patents and the publication or co-publication of over 250 papers in industry and peer-reviewed journals, including book chapters. He has also co-authored three books focused on grapevine physiology and terroir.

Beyond his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Alain Deloire is an esteemed international consultant in the field of viticulture. As of August 2023, following his retirement from L'Institut Agro (Montpellier), he has dedicated himself to providing international consultancy services in viticulture.
